These whiskies get their name from a legend nearly as old as the distillery itself. It was claimed that the Devil was once spotted and chased through the town, eventually hiding away in the distillery. After searching, the Devil was nowhere to be seen, having made his escape in a whisky barrel to the mainlaind.
The second small batch release of Devil's Casks is still mischievous. Having mellowed under a cloak of smooth velvet and sublime sherry cask indulgence, it reveals even more of Bowmore's devilish dark side.
Matured exclusively -and unusually- for 10 years in the finest first fill sherry casks to bring out Bowmore’s hot and fiery characteristics, this small batch release series is, quite simply, devilishly good!
|Bowmore’s celebrated Single Malt has been distilled on this jewel of an island, the Queen of the Hebrides, ever since 1779. This makes it the first of Islay’s eight distilleries chronologically speaking (and by taste too, many would say). Now, as then, Bowmore is widely acknowledged to be among the finest and most perfectly balanced single malts in the world.
