Itís CaskStrength but itís Makerís smooth.
Though itís bottled at a higher proof than either Makerís Markģ or Makerís 46ģ bourbons, Makerís Markģ Cask Strength has a lower proof than most cask strength whiskies. To us, a higher proof can overwhelm a bourbon with a heavy alcohol taste. And at Makerís Mark, weíve always been about creating whiskies that taste ďyummy.Ē
Ultimate Beverage Challenge 94 points - (Great Value)- Eye-catching bronze, burnt orange color. Aromatics are sweet, raisiny at first then they unfold in plump waves of cookie batter, spiced orange, candied citrus rind, honey wheat toast. Warming flavors of cigar tobacco, candied almond, treacle, butter brickle, honeysuckle make for endless gustatory enjoyment. Finishes slightly fiery (no surprise), toasty, sap sweet, oaky, very intense. Not recommended for bourbon novices. (Mar 2015)
