Ultimate Beverage Challenge 89 points - The maritime aging has dramatically amplified the barrel’s interaction with the spirit. Flavors of luscious char and candied pralines leave a strong impression and combine for a full-bodied bourbon with a long, toasty finish and the house’s gentle touch. (Apr 2016)
Malt Advocate 87 points - A follow up to the original Jefferson’s Ocean, 62 barrels of mature bourbon spent 5 months at sea. Can I detect any noticeable sea influence? Not really-perhaps a hint of brine-but it’s nice, pleasant bourbon nonetheless with nothing out of place. Well rounded notes of layered sweetness (caramel, vanilla, maple syrup and a hit of sweet corn), honeyed orchard fruit, and spiced with cinnamon and evergreen. Soft, soothing finish. Sourced whiskey.

Inspired by the original Jefferson’s Ocean, which was new-filled bourbon barrels, the Jefferson’s Ocean: Aged at Sea takes older bourbon barrels and brings it around the world. Stopping in 5 different continents and crossing the equator 4 times, this bourbon truly is a world beater.
